Unveiling Confidence: Jasmine's Journey to Self-love
Jasmine booked with us for a gift to her amazing and supportive fiance, but also as a gift to herself. Choosing to be seen after trauma can be so difficult, and we are so honored to have been here for this step in her journey.
I wanted to do something nice for my fiancé as wedding gift. I’ve always struggled to like my body ever since I was molested as a child. I hid my body for years in fear I would be harmed again. My fiancé changed my outlook on that and after watching my fiancé love my body down to the bare bones of my soul it made me want to do a session. I found Megan's Facebook group and fell in love with the way everyone hyped each other up. I knew I wanted to book a session instantly!
I’ve never taken spicy pictures before as I’ve never liked my body. I was so nervous I wasn’t going to do the “right” thing and mess everything up but Megan talked me through each and every pose and my nerves went away as the shoot progressed.
I remember changing into an outfit and almost crying cause my younger self would’ve been in awe of how much the current version of myself loves my body. I also remember thinking that I couldn’t be more in love with myself in that moment and seeing myself in the mirror after every outfit change made me fall more in love with myself.
I called my fiancé sobbing after my session telling him how beautiful and powerful I felt. I’ve struggled for years to find my beauty and power after being molested. I never thought I would get it back. My boudoir session made me see how wrong I was and that I was always powerful and beautiful. I raved for hours to my friends and family about how much fun I had and how happy I was leaving my session.
I was in awe when I saw my images! I kept looking at the pictures not believing they were me and feeling so beautiful all over again. All I’m gonna say is red is my color! I loved each and every picture from my session!
This experience was one of the best experiences of my life! From chatting with Megan and Gracie to makeup and hair to all the beautiful outfits I loved it all. I still rave about my experience and tell my fiancé I’m booking another session all the time.
I could not recommend this experience more!
Nobody really talks about how differently you view your body after you’ve been harmed by a loved one. I wore baggy clothes, no makeup, and rarely dressed up because I felt I was keeping myself safe that way. I felt like if I kept myself small the person wouldn’t hurt me anymore. For years I kept my light and power locked inside to keep them from looking at me a certain way. When I met my fiancé I still tried to keep myself small until one day he said something that changed my life. I was having a hard day one day and he looked at me and said “you are not meant to be kept small my love. You are meant to burn the world down with your light and beauty. So please stop hiding those two things away” after that I stopped hiding. I embraced my beauty and started doing things I enjoyed. I started wearing the clothes I had been fearful to wear and now all these years later I’m so proud of how far I’ve come.
Having your choices stripped away from you can be hard and frustrating. Looking at your body and wondering why they harmed it will be a long hard road. I know it’s easier to just hide away and push it away but without facing it you won’t be able to heal. You are worthy of a good life and worthy of loving yourself down to the very essence of your soul. You are beautiful and you are not dirty or unlovable. You are strong, courageous, and so so beautiful. It’s time you start embracing that.
My sweet fiancé has been my biggest supporter and fan as I’ve worked to love myself again. On days I couldn’t stand to look at myself he was right there showing me just how beautiful I am.
The most important lesson I’ve learned is no matter what has happened to you there is beauty in everything you do. It might be small things like the light reflecting off the lake at sunset but the beauty is there. That same beauty is within you even when you can’t see it.
