Let's Get Ready For Your Boudoir Session

You finally took the plunge and you've booked in for your boudoir session - yay! So.. how do you prepare for your big day? I'll share some tips here to help you get ready to absolutely rock your session with instructions for the weeks leading up to it. Let's begin!

ONE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR SESSION DATE:

  • Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and have luminous skin! Try to stay away from super salty or greasy foods if possible.
  • Avoid being in direct sun for extended periods of time. Tan lines and burns can be very hard to edit out of your images - not to mention painful!
  • Baby your skin all week with moisturizer and gentle cleansing. Use lip balm daily for supple soft lips.

3-4 DAYS BEFORE YOUR SESSION DATE:

  • If you wax, pluck or shave your brows, now is the time to do so!
  • Have a wedding or engagement ring? Clean it to make sure it's sparkling like brand new if you want to show it off!
  • If you wax body hair, go for it. All natural? Do you!

THE DAY/NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SESSION DATE:

  • Shave if that's your thing but go slow to avoid cuts and use lotions that aid in razor burn.
  • Skip alcohol and parties. Alcohol wreaks havoc on the skin, even in small doses. It depletes the skin of vital nutrients and can leave it dehydrated and dull. Drink lots of water instead!
  • Sleep! Get a full night of rest. You want to be hydrated and well-rested for your boudoir session. Too excited? I totally get it! Try CBD gummies or benadryl to help you fall asleep!

THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION:

  • Arrive with a clean face and hair. Remove all traces of your makeup from the night before, and be sure to moisturize and use your eye cream and lip balm if you have 'em. This will help your stylist have a clean canvas to work with and have you looking your best!
  • Arrive with loose-fitting or no underwear/bra. You want to avoid tight bras and underwear to avoid having lines in your skin. These take a while to disappear and can draw attention away from you in your photos.
  • Eat a light breakfast or lunch, but please eat something! No one wants to feel weak or cloudy at their session, and we definitely don't want you to pass out. If you don't want to eat solid food, try a protein shake, smoothie or breakfast essential drink.
  • Do a few light stretches! I will more than likely have you in a few poses where you're arching your back, and pointing your toes and if you don't stretch beforehand, you might feel some discomfort the day after your session.
  • Get ready to absolutely slay because you're beautiful, brave and capable AF!! Now let's have some fun!
